I Went Into The Woods

I went into the woods to be in silence,

and I heard the silent cacophony of truth.

I went into the woods to feel the beauty there,

and I felt the beauty that has always been within me.

I went into the woods to embrace Nature,

and it was she who embraced me beyond my physicality.

I went into the woods to listen,

and my heart overflowed with song.

I went into the woods to see,

and vision, beyond my eyes, came upon me.

I went into the woods with purpose,

and I was shown my gift instead

to replace it.

I went into the woods to build a life,

and discovered I was there for deconstruction of the life

I believed was mine.

I went into the woods looking for something,

and found the answer not there

but within me

quietly waiting for me

to be still and listen.
